Grounded practice

A planning practice shaped by streets, water, and communities

We connect spatial evidence with community planning so decisions reflect how people move, gather, work, and adapt across Bangladesh's cities.

Focus and concept areas

Planning themes to turn into public briefs

These are not case studies or completed client claims. They are map-sheet focus areas for future study, partnership, and implementation planning.

Old Dhaka street life

Public planning lens
Heritage streets, mixed-use blocks, markets, small workshops, walking pressure, and public safety.
Implementation tools
Street audit, vendor mapping, access plan, pilot phasing.

Flood-aware waterfront edges

Public planning lens
River access, drainage, open space, working landscapes, and climate risk along urban edges.
Implementation tools
Risk layers, edge typologies, public realm options, maintenance roadmap.

Neighborhood park renewal

Public planning lens
Everyday shade, play, rest, gendered access, safety, and nearby civic anchors.
Implementation tools
Use mapping, concept alternatives, cost bands, stewardship plan.

Safer mobility corridors

Public planning lens
Walking, transit reach, freight pressure, school access, crossings, and last-mile gaps.
Implementation tools
Corridor sections, movement counts, quick-build pilots, delivery checklist.

Method

A practical sequence for civic planning work

Each assignment moves from listening and mapping into options, prototypes, and implementation tools that public teams can discuss and adapt.

  1. Listen

Begin with residents, public teams, and site users before fixing the problem statement.

  2. Map

Layer movement, water, land use, risk, public assets, and lived patterns.

  3. Plan

Frame choices, trade-offs, responsibilities, and public value in clear language.

  4. Prototype

Test small moves, workshop options, and make implications visible before larger commitments.

  5. Implement

Translate the preferred direction into phases, partners, policy notes, and action tools.
